Spring Tips

It’s still colder at nights, but day time temps are beginning to rise.  The shredded leaves from last fall on your garden are still protecting insects and bees that have tucked into the leaf mulch.  Leave it on the beds for as long as possible in the perennial gardens.  Usually by May things can be removed and put into the compost bin.  Turn in any fall cover-crop over veggie beds and add some compost/manure as well as lime to them to prep for planting.
