Fall Tips

Every season is such a joy here on the Island! The gardens are beginning to show signs of colour change now and we are anticipating the much needed rains to begin. If you haven't got a plan yet for leaves dropping and what to do, now is the perfect time to think about that. A simple wire bin for storage is great, then you can dip into that stash for adding around the beds as the fall progresses into winter. Shredded leaves are the most useful so if you can mow them up first this will provide the best insulation from rain compacting the soil and prevent leaf clumping on the surface. Leave perennials up all winter for interest, insects and frost protection. Happy fall gardening everyone.
